our story

The founder of Studio 1, Byron Bucknor, is a Jamaican Canadian who came to this country as a child and grew up in the Kitchener Waterloo area. He has been enterprising since he was a young man. His tenacity and love for challenges led him to the military, where he served for several years. He also had the opportunity to travel the world and serve his country as part of the UN peacekeeping forces.

Upon transitioning to civilian life, he seized the opportunity presented by Studio 1 as a launching pad for his career. Excelling in his chosen field, he garnered significant recognition within the industry. Subsequently, he undertook the challenge of pursuing higher education later in life, culminating in the attainment of a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree. Currently, he is progressing towards achieving the esteemed designation of a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Food & Beverage Equipment

Studio 1 has served the commercial kitchen and restaurant industry for decades through trustees, bailiffs and financial companies. We have extensive experience in locating assets for purchase with the expansive list of sellers in our network. At times we purchase assets outright to support our clients in downsizing their operations. We have executed over 100 auctions over the years, both in-person and more recently online, and assisted in liquidation sales. In addition, we provide storage spaces for clients in between commercial leases and lastly offer a safe and efficient transportation service for the same to the client sites.

Corporate Offices

Studio 1 has worked with numerous corporate offices providing our full suite of services. We have extensive experience with outright asset purchases, executing online auctions, liquidation sales, storage and transportation of office furniture and electronic equipment from corporate offices.

Industrial & Commercial

Studio 1 has been a dominant service provider in commercial business providing auction, liquidation and cartage service. More recently Studio 1has gained momentum in the industrial sector; in 2022 alone, our company completed over five auctions representing a minimum of two-day online auctions with asset value exceeding $1.5 Million.

We have built experience in the food processing, automotive parts, manufacturing, metalworking, machining, and tooling industries and continue to get traction with new clients every day.
